What to do with the result

Use it to prepare for the next conversation. An inspection report is useful when the extent of the wiring is still unknown. A written proposal becomes useful once the contractor can explain what needs replacing and what will remain.

If an insurer or buyer is involved, keep the exact request alongside the electrical findings. The wording can affect what evidence is needed at completion. An electrician's report and an insurer's acceptance answer different questions.
